Dental Care Projects in Developing Countries
As part of a previous Woodford Festival, we proudly hosted a talk in aid of the Peace and Hope trust, who provide essential dentistry in remote parts of Nicaragua. We have also donated valuable equipment to similar initiatives in African countries, furthering our commitment to global oral health. One of these charities is Dentaid, a charity that helps underprivileged people in developing countries access essential dental treatment.
Helping Whenever We Can
At Improve Your Smile, we're all about making a positive difference in our local community and beyond.
Here are some of the organisations we work with:
Haven House Children's Hospice
Haven House Children’s Hospice, just up the road from the practice in Woodford Green, provides care for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and help for their families. We support them wherever we can and a few years ago, in collaboration with other local businesses, we organised an unforgettable "It's a Knockout" day. Rallying support and with our patients and friends playing a significant role, we raised an impressive combined total of £6,800.
Pride of Essex Sports Awards
We were delighted to be the sponsors of the Disability Sports Award at the first Pride of Essex Sports Awards Ceremony. The event celebrated sporting achievements of individuals, clubs, coaches and teams across Essex. We were honoured to share a platform with personalities including Paralympian Anne Wafula-Strike, footballers Joe Cole and Frank Lampard, and cricket legend Ronnie Irani.
Pakistan Flood Victim Donations
We regularly collect and send donations of clothes to Pakistan which are personally distributed to flood victims.
The Stroke Association
The Stroke Association exists to increase awareness of Stroke and raise funds for research. Our Make May Purple coffee mornings, complete with music and entertainment, have raised thousands of pounds for The Stroke Association and spread crucial awareness about the signs of Stroke. Through knowledge sharing at our events, we hope to spare more individuals from the devastating impact of Stroke and provide vital support to Stroke patients for their journey to recovery with the funds we raise. Remember, a stroke can happen to anyone.
Churchfields School Parent Teacher Association
As sponsors of Churchfields School PTA, we’re delighted to have the opportunity to connect with local families and to play a positive role in promoting lifelong oral health within our community. We’re proud to partner with the PTA to support with events that help raise funds for the Infants and Junior Schools, for things such as playground improvements, and activities and experiences for all year groups.
